Ustadh Omar Athman
AMUCK had previously entered into an agreement with the CEO of Al-Ihsan Charity Organization, Ustadh Omar Athman, to organize an Umrah trip for Muslim university and college students scheduled for July 2025. Over several months, preparations were discussed and commitments were made but unfortunately, the trip did not materialize. Despite several assurances from Ustadh Omar that the funds would be refunded, a total of KES 330,201 remains unreturned to AMUCK to date.
On 8th February 2026, Ustadh Omar Athman was arrested upon his arrival in Nairobi on similar allegations involving failure to deliver an Umrah trip after receiving payment from another party. He was subsequently arraigned in court, pleaded not guilty, and was released on a cash bail of KES 400,000. AMUCK officials who were present at the hearing gave statements to mainstream media to clarify our position, make a call for justice and to highlight the weight of matter publicly.
In light of the foregoing and after careful consideration of the circumstances surrounding this matter, we hereby formally notify all members that we have resolved to terminate, with immediate effect, any and all agreements, engagements, or working arrangements previously entered into with Al-Hassan Charity Organization and with Ustadh Omar Athman in his individual capacity. This decision has been necessitated by persistent non-communication, lack of cooperation, and a clear failure to honor agreed obligations, including the facilitation of the agreed trip despite receipt of members’ funds. Further, the individual’s disregard of lawful directives, including the failure to comply with court orders, demonstrates conduct inconsistent with the principles of accountability, transparency, and good faith that our organization upholds.
Accordingly, we consider all prior arrangements nullified, and we advise members that neither the above-named organization nor the individual is authorized to act, represent, or engage with our organization in any capacity moving forward. We wish to assure our members and the wider community that we are actively pursuing the recovery of the outstanding funds through the appropriate legal channels.
Umrah Trip 2026
Despite the setbacks we have faced, we will not give up on our vision. AMUCK has entered into an official arrangement with Al-Hajun Hajj and Umrah Services – a reputable and recognised Hajj and Umrah service provider – to plan an Umrah trip for Muslim students in 2026. Our mission remains unchanged: to organize an affordable and well-structured Umrah package that enables Muslim university students to visit the Holy Lands to perform Umrah and remain spiritually connected to them. All processes will be handled formally, clearly, and with full transparency to safeguard the trust placed in us.
We ask for your continued support as we move forward with renewed diligence and determination. May Allah grant us success in our endeavor.
