Executive Committee

The Association of Muslims in Universities and Colleges in Kenya (AMUCK) joins the entire Muslim community of Kenya in mourning the passing of Sheikh Abdulhalim Athman Hussein, the Chief Kadhi of the Republic of Kenya, who returned to his Lord today in Mombasa.

Sheikh Abdulhalim was not only a leading figure in the religious leadership of this country, but also a close friend, mentor, and advisor to AMUCK. He was a dedicated scholar and servant of justice in his nearly two decades of service to the Judiciary of Kenya. His wisdom, humility, and tireless commitment to the cause of Islam left an indelible mark on our hearts.

He most recently graced us as the Chief Guest at the AMUCK Grand Iftar in Mombasa in March 2025, where he inspired hundreds of young Muslims with his powerful words, warm presence, and sincere care for the future of our youth.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire Muslim community in Kenya and beyond. The legacy of Sheikh Abdulhalim will continue to illuminate our path and motivate us to serve Islam with sincerity and dedication.

Verily, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.
